TR Foundation launches global anti-corruption hub

Thomson Reuters Foundation has launched a global marketplace for free public-service legal assistance and news and information about good governance and anti-corruption issues. Called TrustLaw, it will connect NGOs, social entrepreneurs and governments needing legal help with lawyers willing to work at no cost.

Awards for Articles on Diversity

Journalists in the European Union area are invited to apply for prizes of up to 5,000 Euros for articles that contribute to promoting diversity in society and combating discrimination. The award scheme was launched by the UK-based Media Diversity Institute (MDI) , a charity working with the European Commission of the EU.

I was looking for real-time experience in reporting disasters and the course module and exercises I did were as close to a real situation as it can be. Best aspects of the course was writing, reporting and editing exercises that gave me a hands-on experience on crisis and emergency situations. (Crises and Disasters Reporting, Abu Dhabi 27th June - 1st July 2010).

The Writing and Reporting News course was really rewarding. I gained a lot from the experience of the facilitators, Reuters reporters, Editors and the Foundation.
