The course will help journalists develop their skills in international news, with specific emphasis on U.S and India audiences. Guest speakers, reporting field trips and classroom training will be an integral part of the workshop. We hope to cover areas such as:
· Bollywood
· Poverty issues (NGOs, project visit)
· Media
· Call Centre (or other outsourcing)
· Successful Indian company

Eligibility

Funding

The Stanley Foundation and Reuters Foundation will offer US journalists full bursaries which will include travel expenses (economy class), accommodation and some meals. This arrangement is subject to variation.   Tuition fees, travel expenses and some meals will be provided for Indian journalists (who will be based in Mumbai).

Submissions

  • A biography of up to 250 words outlining your career.
  • Two recent examples of your published work, preferably relevant to the course for which you are applying, with a brief summary in English (if necessary). TV/Radio journalists can send in their scripts and a brief summary.
  • A statement of between 250 and 500 words describing any factors affecting your work as a journalist. Explain how you hope to benefit from the course for which you are applying.
